Melisa Lauer has written, produced and directed several documentaries aimed at raising awareness for her into the gritty-world of gang-life on the streets of San Salvador; to the highlands of Chiapas to film a documentary about the life of Zapatistas (this documentary was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival); to Honduras to capture the Red Cross']relief effort after Hurricane Mitch. Most recently, Ms. Lauer traveled to Guatemala where she produced and directed a promotional DVD for the non-profit organization WINGS, which delivers health services and education to impoverished women. This DVD has helped the organization raise thousands of dollars.
